If you would like help and support with breastfeeding and expressing, Marianne Sturm is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who may be available to help.

All consultations are provided in your own home.

Antenatal

    If you are pregnant, and planning to breastfeed, or if you experienced difficulties with breastfeeding previously, you can contact Marianne for advice about breastfeeding in your specific situation.

  • Counseling and advice if you experienced difficulties with breastfeeding following a previous pregnancy and birth
  • Planning ahead if you are expecting a complicated birth, or if you or your baby has a medical condition
  • Planning ahead if you are likely to have a premature baby
  • Planning ahead if your baby may need surgery

Postnatal

The early weeks after the birth of a baby are likely to be tiring, and many women find that it can be challenging to recover from the birth and to establish breastfeeding.  Many women experience initial discomfort with feeding, but with assistance and support, are able to breastfeed confidently and enjoy their baby. Sometimes it helps to have the reassurance that everything is progressing well.

All consultations are conducted in your own home, at a convenient time.
Consultations are available in Adelaide metropolitan area, Adelaide Hills areas, or Fleurieu Peninsula.
An antenatal visit will include review of your clinical history, discussion about your or your baby’s requirements, and discussion about expressing,  storing and transporting expressed breastmilk.
A postnatal visit will include review of your relevant clinical history, baby weight check, assessment of feeding, and development of a feeding management plan.
